Held with the Reservoirs Directorate at the Ministry of Oil to discuss the preliminary study's findings and the expected cost of the pilot project.

The Iraq Energy Academy, with the Reservoirs Directorate at the Ministry of Oil, held a roundtable to discuss the findings of the preliminary study on carbon dioxide injection at the Nasiriyah oil field and the expected cost of the pilot project.

The session also reviewed a study by the Petroleum Engineering Department at the University of Baghdad on flue-gas injection at the same field, while representatives of the Carbon Economics company addressed the project's economic and environmental significance.

Attendees included the Deputy Minister of Oil for Distribution Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, alongside directors general, experts and academics specialising in energy and the environment, together with members of the academy's Board of Trustees.

Iraq Energy Academy Holds Meeting to Discuss Upcoming Dialogue Sessions, Training Courses, and Institutional Development

On the evening of Monday, October 5, 2026, the Iraq Energy Academy held a meeting chaired by its President, energy expert Engineer Fayyad Hassan Neama, with the participation of the heads of the Academy’s working committees and several staff members. The meeting discussed the Academy’s upcoming activities and organizational development. It was agreed to organize two dialogue sessions in the coming months. The first session, entitled “The Future of Iraqi Oil and Geopolitical Challenges,” is scheduled for November 14, 2026, while the second, entitled “Gas Indicators in the Western Desert Region,” is planned for mid-December 2026. The meeting also addressed the development of the Academy’s official website. Emphasis was placed on providing the necessary content in both Arabic and English, as well as revitalizing the Academy’s official Facebook page to enhance communication and engagement with its audience. Dr. Amer Taqi Al-Wazzan, Head of the Research and Studies Committee, presented his committee’s proposed work plan and operational strategy. Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Jawad, Head of the Training Committee, outlined plans to organize two specialized training courses: 1- Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications in the Oil Industry. 2- Project Management in the Oil Industry: Current Status and Future Outlook. The meeting further agreed to interview individuals interested in joining the Academy’s working committees. Dr. Mohammed Nasser was assigned to coordinate with the interested candidates and arrange the necessary interviews. The meeting forms part of the Academy’s efforts to organize its upcoming activities, strengthen its research and training programs, and develop its institutional and digital presence.

Iraq Energy Academy Holds Meeting to Discuss Future Activities

A meeting was held at the Oil Cultural Center on Monday, August 17, 2026, chaired by Mr. Fayyadh Hassan Nima Al-Mousawi, Petroleum Expert and President of the Iraq Energy Academy, and attended by a distinguished group of academics and experts working at the Academy. During the meeting, the participants discussed the mechanisms and future work plans of the Academy, as well as preparations for the specialized dialogue seminar to be organized by the Academy during the second half of September 2026. The meeting also approved the appointment of individuals to manage several key divisions of the Academy, as follows: Energy Technical Center for Training and Development: Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Jawad, Director. Energy Consultancy Office: Dr. Amer Taqi Al-Wazzan, Director, assisted by Dr. Karim Abdul Hassan. Preparatory Committee: Mr. Jameel Radi Kammouna, Chair, assisted by Dr. Mohammed Nasser Hussein.
